What CBAM data must an Indian ferro-alloy supplier give a steel exporter?

Ferro-manganese, ferro-chromium and ferro-nickel are CBAM goods and precursors for steel. An Indian steel mill exporting to the EU needs each supplier's verified embedded emissions per tonne, the installation and the production year. Other ferro-alloys under CN 7202 8 are outside CBAM.

What the steel mill asks for

Electricity

Ferro-alloys are iron and steel goods in Annex II, so only direct emissions count in their figure.

If you cannot provide it

The mill uses default values for your ferro-alloy, usually higher, and may move to a supplier with verified data.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads an exporter's fuel and electricity invoices into dated, fingerprinted records that a monitoring plan and a verifier can trace back to source. Senseible does not verify emissions, register operators in the CBAM Registry or file CBAM declarations.
