What records must a green hydrogen plant keep for certification in India?
Daily records of hydrogen output, its physical and chemical parameters and energy use by source, plus water, feedstock and losses, kept for at least five evaluation cycles. A monitoring plan must set out emission sources, instruments, calibration, data control and factors for the verification agency.
Daily records
- Hydrogen produced, with its physical and chemical parameters.
- Energy consumed from each source, both aggregated and broken down.
- Fuel and electricity consumption in detail.
- Water consumption, feedstock consumption and losses.
- Sales up to the first purchaser, or captive use, and whether the hydrogen was converted into a carrier.
The monitoring plan
GHCI calls it the Green Hydrogen MRV framework. It must cover:
- Emission source streams and activity data.
- Monitoring instruments and how often they are calibrated.
- Written procedures on data control.
- Frequency of monitoring and recording.
- Emission factors used.
- Calibration of all critical instruments by certifying agencies.
How long to keep them
At least five evaluation cycles, or since the start of operations if the plant is younger. MNRE or its agency may run random or sample audits during or after the year.
Renewable power evidence
- PPAs and load dispatch centre certificates showing generation against consumption.
- Green tariff bills and power exchange records.
- Storage and banking records where renewable power was stored or banked.
What you need not disclose
Offtake data is kept for record only and does not affect the certificate. The verification agency may not insist on sensitive commercial data such as offtake contracts.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads electricity bills, including green tariff bills, and fuel invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record, so the energy side of these files stays easy to find years later. Metered production data stays in your plant systems.
