How much electricity does a groundnut decorticator unit use per tonne?
A decorticating unit shells pods with motors, fans and sieves. Read units from the electricity bill and divide by tonnes of pods shelled, then multiply by 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh. Shells used as boiler fuel elsewhere are biomass, not counted as your emission.
Track
- Monthly units on the bill.
- Tonnes of pods and kernels from the stock register.
- Genset diesel during cuts.
Shells
Selling shells as fuel or briquette feedstock is income. The buyer burning them reports biogenic CO2.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads the plant's electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and fuel invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, the plant-level input to a per-unit figure. Bought-in materials go to the supplier evidence trail; product reports are self-declared drafts.
