The Rajkot forging cluster profile gives 2,641 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe) in its text and 3,641 in its table for the largest ring rolling unit: which is right?

The table's 3,641 toe adds up: 212 toe of fuel plus 39,873,150 kilowatt hours (kWh) of power, about 3,429 toe at a conversion worked out from the profile's cluster row. The text's 2,641 would need about 28 million kWh. Power is 94% of that unit's energy, so its carbon follows the grid factor.

The two printed figures

Which one adds up

The profile's cluster table gives 262.8 million kWh as 22,597 toe, which is 0.086 toe for every 1,000 kWh. Apply that to the large ring rolling row: 39,873,150 kWh is about 3,429 toe, and 212 + 3,429 = 3,641. The table ties to its own columns. For the text's 2,641, the power would have to be 2,641 less 212, or 2,429 toe, about 28 million kWh, which is not what the row prints. I cannot say how the text figure arose; the table is the one that ties.

What the large units emit from power alone

At 0.675 kg per kWh, the large ring rolling unit's 39,873,150 kWh is about 26,914 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year, and the large forging unit's 16,240,200 kWh about 10,962 tonnes. The profile does not split each unit's fuel between furnace oil, natural gas and light diesel oil, so the fuel part cannot be worked out from this table. Your own invoices give it.

Large ring rolling unit, step by step

TERI's unit table with a conversion worked out from its own cluster row (22,597 toe over 262.8 million kWh); the grid factor is the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) value for financial year (FY) 2025-26. This is an estimate for power only.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices and electricity bills into monthly records, so a year of power and fuel bills gives you your own totals to set beside these. It does not measure boilers or read a profile report, and it is not a third-party verifier.
