What steps does a SIDBI green loan application go through before sanction?

Under SIDBI's GCF-backed FMAP programme a direct loan goes through three stages. The branch checks completeness and screens against the exclusion list. Due diligence follows: KYC, credit and financial checks, the environmental checklist, ESG rating, and climate and technical review. A credit appraisal memorandum then goes to a sanctioning committee.

Stage 1: application and screening

The SIDBI relationship manager at the branch checks that the application is complete, including climate, environmental and social safeguard documents. Incomplete files are rejected or returned for completion. Complete files are screened against the exclusion list and for signs of a high-risk project: an outlay above USD 60 million, impacts that are diverse, irreversible or unprecedented, or risks that normal policies and workplace standards cannot manage.

Stage 2: due diligence

Stage 3: appraisal and sanction

A maker and checker team prepares the credit appraisal memorandum for the loan sanctioning committee. Nobody involved in screening or due diligence sits on that committee.

What Senseible does here

Senseible prepares the baseline and expected saving from your own bills, the part of the climate review that small units most often cannot document.
