What monitoring and reporting does a SIDBI green loan need after the money is paid out?

Under SIDBI's GCF-backed FMAP programme the borrower signs undertakings to carry out a project-specific environmental and social plan. SIDBI then runs annual supervision visits, high and moderate risk projects get semi-annual or annual monitoring, and independent agencies check a sample of units, including the energy, emissions and water savings claimed.

What SIDBI checks after sanction

How often

Site visits are proportionate to risk: high and moderate risk projects get semi-annual or annual monitoring, low risk projects get annual or desk-based checks. SIDBI also runs annual supervision missions with site audits and document checks, and expects submissions from MSMEs under the undertakings signed when the plan was rolled out.

Third-party verification

For the first six years of the programme an independent monitoring agency designs the tools and runs verification audits; from years 7 to 13 SIDBI's own team uses those tools. Sample-based evaluations look at environmental plan implementation and also at climate benefits: greenhouse gas reductions, energy savings and water efficiency.

Records to keep from day one

What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps the before and after energy record from bills in one place with sources, which is what a verifier asks for when checking a claimed saving.
