How does a Solapur textile unit work out CO2 from the steam boiler used for dyeing and sizing?
Record the fuel each month: coal or lignite in full in Scope 1, wood or briquettes with CO2 reported as biogenic. Multiply by the fuel's factor, add electricity at 0.710 kg per kWh, and divide by kilograms of yarn or fabric processed.
Fuel records
- Weight bought and stock at month end.
- Supplier GCV for coal.
- Moisture for briquettes and wood.
Electricity
Looms and winding use most of it; take units from bills.
Per kilogram
Divide by output processed in the month and keep dyeing and weaving apart if buyers ask.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted plant records, so the monthly intensity behind a figure can be traced to its source.
