Best digital MRV platforms for 2027, from field to issuance
Digital MRV earns its keep in the months between a field reading and an issued credit. Some tools here measure land from space, some carry field data straight into a registry, and some are the registries themselves.
Senseible makes one of the tools on this list.
The list
1. Isometric Certify
- Who it is for: Removal and reduction suppliers certified by Isometric, and their MRV software providers.
- Best for: Suppliers who want monitoring data checked and issued in days on one registry.
- Pricing: Published on Isometric’s pricing page.
- Strengths: AI agents review every data point before an expert verifier decides. Open APIs, MCP access and existing MRV software can send data straight in.
- Limits: Works only for projects certified by Isometric. Fees for smaller volumes are on request.
2. Carbonfuture MRV+
- Who it is for: Durable removal suppliers, biochar first, and the buyers of their credits.
- Best for: Biochar producers that want tracking built for CSI, Isometric and Puro.earth certification.
- Pricing: On request. Its API is free to use.
- Strengths: Tracks each delivery from production to durable storage. Structures data to the requirements of CSI, Isometric and Puro.earth.

- Best for: Developers of distributed biochar and industrial projects that want certification in one place.
- Pricing: On request.
- Strengths: Application, carbon calculations and proof documents in one place, from the standard to the registry. Distributed biochar methodologies for open and closed kilns.
- Limits: Rainbow Standard projects only. Prices not published.
8. Gold Standard dMRV pilot programme
- Who it is for: GS4GG project developers and verifiers.
- Best for: Gold Standard developers testing digital monitoring with the registry.
- Strengths: Registry-backed route to digital verification. Open to developer-proposed tools.
- Limits: Pilot with an October 2026 end date, now passed. Not software; the developer supplies the tool.
9. Boomitra
- Who it is for: Credit buyers and governments; farmers and ranchers across the Global South.
- Best for: Buyers seeking soil-carbon removal credits measured by satellite.
- Pricing: Not applicable (sells credits).
- Strengths: Remote sensing calibrated on a very large soil-sample archive. VM0042 alignment stated.
- Limits: Not software other developers can license. Soil carbon only.
10. Puro.earth dMRV Connect and Issuance+
- Who it is for: Puro Standard suppliers and the digital MRV providers that serve them.
- Best for: Engineered removal suppliers on Puro.earth that want monitoring data to flow into certification.
- Pricing: Published on Puro.earth’s fee page.
- Strengths: dMRV Connect API carries monitoring and verification data into certification. Issuance+ uses MyPuro 2.0 for a more automated path from monitoring to issuance.
- Limits: Puro Standard projects only. Not a field data tool; a separate MRV provider collects the data.
11. Senseible
- Who it is for: Biochar and farm carbon projects, and the FPOs that bring farmers into them, from the first plot to registry submission.
- Best for: Biochar and farm projects with thousands of smallholders that need one record from field to registry.
- Pricing: On request.
- Strengths: Offline field app, geotagged photos and kiln sensor temperature logs in one chain of custody. Verifier evidence pack, registry submission, and forward contract and milestone tracking from the same record.
- Limits: Senseible prepares and checks the record; an accredited verifier checks it and the registry issues. No quality rating of credits.

How to choose
- Satellite or remote-sensing measurement (biomass, soil carbon, land use). Ask: "Which satellites, at what resolution, and how was the model calibrated?"
- Field samples, plots, meters, kiln sensors or IoT feeds tied into the record. Ask: "How do field samples or sensor readings get into the record?"
- Built to a registry methodology (Verra, Gold Standard, Puro.earth, Isometric or others). Ask: "Which methodology and version, and has the registry accepted it?"
- Independent quality or risk rating of credits or projects. Ask: "Who rates the risk, and are they independent of the seller?"
- Tamper-evident record: hashing, ledger or versioned audit trail. Ask: "If a reading changes, where does the old value show?"
- Supports a verification body (VVB) review or digital issuance. Ask: "Can our verifier work inside it, or do we send files?"
- Tools for developers to run monitoring and produce issuance-ready reports. Ask: "Can we run monitoring ourselves, or only buy it as a service?"
- Field capture that works with no signal and uploads later. Ask: "What happens to an entry made where there is no network?"
- Built for projects with thousands of small farms or kilns. Ask: "How many farmers and plots does one project hold today?"
- Sends data or a submission straight to a registry or issuer. Ask: "Which registry takes our data from you, and in what form?"
- Tracks forward contracts, milestones or deliveries next to the evidence. Ask: "Can our buyer see delivery against the contract next to the evidence?"
