Do sponge iron and steel plants in Raipur and Durg have CCTS emission intensity targets yet?
Check the latest notification. The first target rules named plants in a few sectors, and iron and steel is a large sector expected to follow. A plant has a target only once its name, baseline and target appear in a notification. Until then it has none, but its monitoring records will be needed.
How to check
- Look for the latest Greenhouse Gases Emission Intensity Target Rules notification and amendments covering iron and steel.
- Search for your plant name and location.
- If listed, note the baseline year, product unit and target.
Prepare anyway
- Monthly coal, dolomite and ore quantities with lab analyses.
- Electricity bought and generated, including waste heat recovery power.
- Production by product: sponge iron, billets, bars.
The same records serve CBAM
Exporters and their customers need embedded emissions per tonne for CBAM. A plant that keeps these records once can answer both.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads coal, coke, gas and electricity invoices and production records into a dated, fingerprinted record per site, so the direct emissions behind each tonne can be traced to the documents. Emissions factors outside India are entered from the official source and labelled.
