How do auto component suppliers answer the climate section of the Drive Sustainability SAQ?

Answer only what you can evidence: your environmental management system and ISO 14001 status, Scope 1 and 2 totals with year and method, the share of renewable electricity, any reduction target, and the documents behind each answer. A short honest 'not yet' scores better than an unsupported 'yes'.

What the environment section looks for

Preparing the climate figures

  1. Fix the year and boundary: the sites the SAQ covers, under operational control.
  2. Scope 1: fuels burnt on site, such as diesel, LPG, PNG and furnace oil, from invoices, with IPCC factors.
  3. Scope 2: grid kWh from bills at the CEA factor, location-based, and market-based if you hold RECs, open access green power or a green tariff.
  4. Scope 3: give the categories you have measured and say which you have not. Do not present a partial Scope 3 as complete.
  5. Write the method in one paragraph: GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, factor sources and editions.

Evidence that gets accepted

Upload the document that proves each yes: the ISO certificate, the policy, a one-page emissions summary with the factor table, and for renewable power the REC retirement statements or the green tariff bill. A yes that the reviewer cannot match to a document may be treated as unsupported, so it can count for less than you expect.

Keeping it consistent

European OEMs may also send a product footprint request or a CDP questionnaire. Use the same totals and the same year everywhere. If you update a number later, update every place you reported it, and keep the earlier version with the reason for the change.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your fuel invoices and electricity bills into a Scope 1, 2 and 3 record with the source document behind each line, which gives you figures and attachments for the SAQ. The questionnaire itself is filled on the OEM's or platform's site.
