Senseible

Our landlord put solar on the roof of our rented factory. Who claims it?

Whoever uses the power can count it, but only once. If you consume the solar units, your Scope 2 falls by that amount. If the landlord sells them to you under a contract, keep the contract and meter readings. The landlord cannot also claim units you used.

Common setups

Get in writing

A clause stating who claims the solar attributes avoids double counting later.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site. Intensity per unit uses the activity count you enter, and estimates are labelled as estimates.
