Should a factory buy solar or wind power through open access?
Both count the same way in a market-based Scope 2 if contracts and certificates meet the quality criteria. The choice is about cost and timing: solar matches day shifts, wind often runs strongest at night and in the monsoon. A hybrid or banking can fill the gaps where your state rules allow it.
Compare on
- Landed cost per kWh after wheeling, banking and surcharges.
- How well the generation profile matches your load.
- Contract tenure and exit terms.
For the Scope 2 claim
Keep the contract, monthly energy statements and proof that the renewable attributes are not sold or claimed by anyone else.
What Senseible does here
Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site, and labels estimates as estimates.
