What is the CBAM default value for nuts, bolts and screws from India?

Under CN 7318, Indian threaded screws and bolts carry 5.720 t CO2e per tonne, nuts 5.140, washers 5.140, most other screws and non-threaded parts 4.270, and stainless wood and self-tapping screws 5.770. Direct emissions only, plus the 10% mark-up for 2026.

Mark-up on top

The listed values are increased by a mark-up: 10% for 2026, 20% for 2027 and 30% from 2028. Goods imported in 2026 always take the 2026 mark-up.

Getting below the default

A fastener maker's own emissions are mostly heat treatment, forging and plating energy. The larger part is the wire rod or bar. Ask your steel supplier for its verified figure, add your own process energy per tonne shipped, and the total is usually below the default.

What Senseible does here

Senseible reads coal, coke, gas, electricity and freight invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record per site, so an actual figure you send an EU buyer can be traced back to the documents behind it. It does not file CBAM declarations.
