Is there a deadline to claim CCTS offset credits after the monitoring period?
Yes. Issuance requests must be filed in date order, starting with the first monitoring period, and every request for a crediting period must be submitted within two years after that period ends. Miss the deadline and BEE no longer issues credits for that crediting period.
The conditions on issuance
- Requests go in chronological order, starting from the first monitoring period.
- Requests for reductions in a crediting period must be submitted within two years after it ends.
- BEE checks the monitoring report for completeness within 10 working days; an incomplete request can be resubmitted within 15 working days.
- A subject matter expert reviews it within 30 calendar days, then the Technical Committee and NSC-ICM decide.
- Credits are issued after the INR 5 per credit issuance fee is paid.
How not to miss it
Book verification for each monitoring period soon after it closes. A verifier who raises queries can take months, and any gap in metering or invoices for a month leaves nothing for the verifier to test.
What Senseible does here
Senseible keeps fuel and electricity invoices as dated, fingerprinted monthly records, the consumption data a project's monitoring report and its verifier will ask to trace.
